Exposed Plank Walls

Yes sir!  Not only do I love the plank ceilings but I also love the use of exposed plank wood on the walls. You will find that the use of wood on walls is referred to as  either plank, exposed plank or  shiplap. Whatever you like to call this wonderful wall treatment it still  makes a room look so much more interesting and adds such dimension. Plank walls work for most styles from country to contemporary and in any room of a home.

Lets start in a entry with plank walls

I love all the details in this room. The walls are wonderful, but look at those doors that lead in the kitchen. I love the neutral colors and the window on the left has a contemporary  flair to it. And that coffee table is pretty special also.

Here is the use of plank walls again but the style of the room is totally different.

This just proves that this wall treatment with go with any style.

They used exposed plank only on the fireplace with a cast-stone surround .  Very nice!

WOWZER – this is over the top!!

The use of neutrals make this room a perfect and peaceful retreat. Of course I love it because Phoebe Howard designed it.

The grouping of framed intaglios over the bed are wonderful.

Wonderful bedroom – I would call this style country french rustic – especially like the touch of the chandy with crystals

This bedroom is similar to the one above. Isn’t it dreamy? I think it is interesting how the hung pendant lights over their night stands. It also looks like a collection of vintage prints above and around the desk with mirror. I really like the impact grouping make in a room.

This is an awesome bedroom.  There are so many details/layers you have to take them in one at a time. The doors over the bed are great looking – but I am not sure the added drapes/curtains was worth it. Or maybe if they had them on a larger rod. Oh, listen to me! I love this room, why am I picking it apart?  Look at the night stands – they are incredibly cool as the look to be salvaged corbels. Like that very much! And one single candle sits on them – hmmmm, not sure I could really read at night by candlelight. The aubussum pillows on the bed tie all the colors together in the room.

I love the blue wall color and the bedding.

What a fun room for a sleep over. Everyone gets a bit of privacy by adding the curtains. The beams are wonderful as is the shiplap/plank wall. The pop of turquoise is a great accent to the room.

What a fun and funky  use of the exposed plank. They literally used plank on all 5 walls! This would be a wonderful retreat to go read a book “all by one’s self”.
