I have been very anxiously waiting on this very large window to arrive. As you remember from a previous post here – the first window arrived but the top radius was measured incorrectly. Frustrating! And it was measured 4 times! This time they literally did a template of the window!
Now they have to first remove the old window ……………….one pane at a time!!! It was an old single pane window, so I guess that how you have to do it!
I will admit I kinda wished we could do without windows and enjoy a nice breeze all day long!! Then I realized I am not on some tropical island……… I am in Oklahoma!!
The window weighed over 500 pounds and took 4 hefty men to lift it.
I really got all fussy about my azaleas and made each one of them promise not to damage them. I am sure they thought bad things about me!
Oh dear! It is 5/8 inch off…………….now they spend nearly an hour getting the perfect fit!!! Of course I am sure it did not help that I was watching their every move!! it got a little tense for a while.
And now the finished product………
There is such a difference in these new windows – they’re solid stuff! You can tell by just looking at them they are super duper energy efficient.
This is our very old window!! Do you remember those aluminum single pane windows??
And yes!! I will be getting rid of those lovely sheers!
We are making sure but steady progress with our home remodel. It will be slower than the norm because we are contracting it ourselves. But we’re up for it!!
Thanks for taking a peak at our new dining room window. Please come back for a visit!
