Tulsa Designer Showcase 2012

I always enjoy going to designer showcase houses. It is a sampling of many creative designers where each room is treat to visit. I almost missed ours this year with a remodel going on in our home but finally made it this last Friday. These photos could be better quality as I really was not planning on taking photos for this post so I took all these  photos with my iphone.

The home is the McGuire-Hood home and was built in 1915.  The style of this mansion is Prairie School style.  Mr McGuire’s and his wife  hand-selected the stone for their house from the Osage hills and were brought it in by horse-drawn carriage.

The Living Room was done in taupy grays. There was a lot of interesting details though out the room that I liked.

The zinc crosses hanging on the ladder were interesting.

Cute vignette – wouldn’t exactly say it is for a living room though.

I love this nail head trim on the curtains – great detail.

Love this monogram pillow on the sofa – think it would easy to duplicate. It is a grosgrain ribbon wrapped around the pillow with the monogram of a felt like material attached.

This is the color of the living room walls. All paints are Sherwin Willliams

Warm Stone – 7032

The ceiling was the same color but cut by 50%.

Off of the living room you enter the sun room which I loved because it was a very livable space surrounded by three walls of windows.  This is the area you enter as you exit the living room.

Two totally different garden seats paired with leather chairs on top of a shag rug!! It was perfect.

At the other end of the sun room

Love the pottery vases as a coffee table. One is just slightly taller than the other allowing the glass to rest on top of the other.

I like the curtains with the Ikat pattern and a soft pleat.  The windows were really great in that the moulding was painted with Sherwin Williams Moderate White while the mullions were Sherwin Williams Warm Stone which is the same color of the walls.  To me it was a perfect accent and one that I noticed immediately.

Across from the sectional sofa are X stools with nail head trim sitting in front of a fireplace.  I so want a pair of these stools – something else on my very long wish list.

Now we go into the dining room.  Sorry my iphone does not do this room justice.

Dining Room color is Sherwin Williams Cast Iron – 6202

Ceiling Color is Sherwin Williams Moderate White – 6140

Now we go to the Kitchen and Pantry Area. I only took one photo in the pantry area of the window treatment. I thought this was a great idea – hemmed burlap flopped over a burlap covered dowel, trim and a stencil. The rosette looking pieces at the end of the rod look like it was a circle of burlap stuffed in the rod.  It was a great accent next to the wall color.

Sherwin Williams wall color is Renwick Olive – 2815

Kitchen Island with leather treated granite.

Galley Sink from Kitchen Ideas – these things are super cool. Check them out here: The Galley Sink. Please forgive me as this photo is blurred!!

Beautiful windows over the range – but actually they did not give you the best view of the back yard. Kinda was disappointed in the small windows.

Now to the upstairs – love all the moulding they have added.

Upstairs Landing

Walls are Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige – 7037

The ceiling on the landing was very special with Metallic Pearl Glaze

Master Sitting Room

The opposite side of the room

Bookshelf area for the television – but where is the TV????

Wall color Sherwin Williams Anonymous – 7046

Master Bedroom

Guest Bedroom – loved it!! Fresh and inviting!

How wonderful is this bedside table?? Clever!

Great Chandy! Same shape as the lamps on the chest.

Wonderful trim on the window treatment

Guest Room color is Sherwin Williams Wheat Grass – 6408

Bathroom off of the guest bedroom – love all of the marble tile

I love the juxtaposed accent of the dressing table in this bathroom. Guest that little cabinet is a drop for laundry. Boy – they don’t do those anymore do they??

This is the third story of the home – a wonderful lodge style retreat.

Last stop is the back yard. WOW – I would love to have this set up at our home.

Clever way to plant your herbs
