There are seriously a million ways to decorate bookshelves. As numerous as our individual personalities. It all has to do with your taste and style. Bookshelves can either hold your collection of books, or just your collections, or a little of both.
When we were remodeling this last summer and I was designing our 13 ‘ long bookshelves I really never gave it a thought about how I was going to fill them. So when the time came to fill the shelves up it became a tad more challenging than I thought it would be. Those bookshelves started off looking like this – empty! Heck I thought I would have no problem filling them up.Wrong!!
Today this is what they look like. I still am not 100% happy with the styling but just can not figure out how exactly I want them. I did paint the back with Benjamin Moore Pashima.
I knew I wanted my bookshelves loaded with my books – but I also wanted some of my knickknacks in there as well. I started really noticing bookshelves on blogs, pinterest and just about anywhere else. And just as I said earlier, there are millions of ways to style your bookshelves.
I especially love the way my niece has her bookshelves styled – books by color. It looks so organized, clean and crisp.
Many people like to to arrange and style the bookshelves by the color of the books. This seems to be a popular trend.
Just black & white – this is kinda cool.
Using your bookshelves as almost a piece of art is awesome. All of these bookshelves compliment and blend with the decor of the room.
Bookshelves are perfect to show off your collections plus compliment your decor.
Even adding wallpaper is a show stopper!!
My favorite bookshelves are those that are full of books. Just books! And lots of books!!
Another way to arrange your bookshelves to just throw caution to the wind and not over think the “styling” part of our bookshelves. This is when bookshelves become libraries!!!
SO! How do you like your bookshelves?? I would love to know. Leave me a comment whether you like to see shelves used for books? Your collectibles? Or a little of both?
Thanks for visiting!!
